Dr. Wolfram Brück, a native of Germany has been appointed to the post of CAMBio Project Manager and Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher and took up his post at CAMBio in January 2006. Following a Ph.D. in the Department of Food Microbiology at University of Reading in United Kingdom and completion of a three-year post-doctoral term at the Harbour Branch Oceanographic Institute in Florida investigating the diversity of microbiological species in sponges associated with the production of bioactive compounds, Dr. Brück brings a wealth of international experience and contacts to the new research group.
At CAMBio he will focus on the development of a multiplex real-time PCR test for Listeria monocytogenes, E. coli O157:H7 and Salmonella spp. in association with the salmon farming industry.
After his first dive in the waters off Fanad Head and Horn Head he is adjusting rapidly to the change in water temperature compared to Florida! |
