The Centre for Applied Marine Biotechnology was established in 2005. It is the first research centre on the campus of Letterkenny Institute of Technology in County Donegal. The objectives of the Centre are to develop a centre of excellence in applied marine biotechnology research capable of exploiting opportunities to the benefit of existing companies or the creation of new companies in the region. The CAMBio management team recognise that to succeed in their ambitious development plan, a high calibre and dynamic research team capable of successful competition for both national and international research funding will be required.
